It is a misdemeanor to trespass on the county-owned bridge\u2019s catwalk, and deputies are actively patrolling and citing violators. Ten people, mostly from the Sacramento area, were cited early\u00a0Sunday<\/span>\u00a0and 24 more were encountered there later\u00a0Sunday<\/span>.<\/p>\n Not only is it illegal to enter the gated catwalk area, it is extremely dangerous. There is a zero percent chance of survival if someone falls to the American River canyon, 730 feet below the metal structure.
