{"id":2754,"date":"2015-05-21T08:26:01","date_gmt":"2015-05-21T15:26:01","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.americanriverwildlife.com\/?p=2754"},"modified":"2015-05-21T08:26:01","modified_gmt":"2015-05-21T15:26:01","slug":"water-release-from-folsom-lake-designed-to-help-delta","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.americanriverwildlife.com\/?p=2754","title":{"rendered":"Water release from Folsom Lake designed to help Delta"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The Bureau of Reclamation increased water flows from Folsom Dam early Wednesday morning.<\/p>\n<p>The wind, tides and lack of water in the Delta have become a concern for the Bureau.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;All of those things have come to a head right now and there are salinity issues in the Delta that need to be managed by increasing the releases out of Folsom,&#8221; said Erin Curtis, the spokesperson for the Bureau&#8217;s Mid-Pacific Region. &#8220;The important place to make the releases right now is Folsom.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>The Bureau increased the flow from 1,250 cubic feet per second (CFS) to 1,500 CFS.<\/p>\n<p>By releasing more water from Folsom Lake into the river system, the river has a better ability to keep the salinity out of the Delta.<\/p>\n<p>But the increased flows mean Folsom Lake is dropping fast.<\/p>\n<p>More at <a href=\"http:\/\/www.kcra.com\/news\/water-release-from-folsom-lake-designed-to-help-delta\/33140096\" target=\"_blank\">KCRA.com<\/a> &gt;&gt;&gt;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The Bureau of Reclamation increased water flows from Folsom Dam early Wednesday morning.
