{"id":3105,"date":"2016-05-26T07:11:28","date_gmt":"2016-05-26T14:11:28","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.americanriverwildlife.com\/?p=3105"},"modified":"2016-05-26T07:11:28","modified_gmt":"2016-05-26T14:11:28","slug":"bald-eagles-spotted-in-sacramento-county","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.americanriverwildlife.com\/?p=3105","title":{"rendered":"Bald Eagles Spotted in Sacramento County"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>A\u00a0couple of bald eagles have\u00a0been seen recently\u00a0near Lake Natoma, just about\u00a020 miles east of\u00a0Sacramento off Highway 50.<\/p>\n<p>During a visit to the lake on Wednesday, FOX40 spoke with several people\u00a0who reported recent bald eagle sightings.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI was shocked that we even have them here,\u201d remarked Mary Ann Williams, who captured iPhone images of the birds perched high up in a tree while she was hiking with a friend a few weeks ago.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI don\u2019t know why, but\u00a0I looked up, and I couldn\u2019t believe my eyes,\u201d Williams said.<\/p>\n<p>Wildlife experts say bald eagles are thriving due to conservation efforts.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cFor the last 40 years or so, every wildlife agency has worked to bring them back,\u201d explained Andrew Hughan of the\u00a0California Department of Fish and Wildlife.<\/p>\n<p>Lake Natoma, surrounded by high dense trees, is a suitable habitat.<\/p>\n<p>More at <a href=\"http:\/\/fox40.com\/2016\/05\/25\/bald-eagles-spotted-in-sacramento-county\/\">Fox40.com <\/a>&gt;&gt;&gt;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>A\u00a0couple of bald eagles have\u00a0been seen recently\u00a0near Lake Natoma, just about\u00a020 miles east of\u00a0Sacramento off Highway 50.
