With water levels receding at Folsom Lake, old little snapshots of history are reappearing.<\/p>\n

As documented by the Placer County Sheriff\u2019s Office over the weekend, the orginal Salmon Falls Bridge\u00a0has reappeared due to the low water levels.<\/p>\n

The bridge is among\u00a0the last remnants of the historic colony on Mormon Island. Back in Gold Rush times, the colony housed more than 2,500 residents. A devastating\u00a0fire tore through the settlement in 1856 and it was never rebuilt.<\/p>\n
