The Jedediah Smith Memorial trail will be closed from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. between miles 16 and 17 Friday because of a controlled burn conducted by the Sacramento Metropolitan Fire District.<\/p>\n

If weather and air quality permit, the burn will take place in the American River Parkway near Ambassador Drive, according to the American River Parkway Foundation.<\/p>\n
